The Oral B Pro 7000 is based on the design of older SmartSeries Pro 5000/7000 electric toothbrushes. The chunky handle of this electric brush is available in black and white. The tapper on the body of this handle makes it an ideal shape for holding. The handle is wrapped with soft-touch plastic. It comes with a backing made of rubber and has an excellent textured grip. The brush handle toughly built, can survive falls, and are great for daily use. This SmartSeries brush has simple controls, including two switches for power on/off and brush modes. Your toothbrush is equipped with the LED Smart Ring, which is made visible through a variety of colors of light. The white light (default) indicates that it is in operation and also serves as a visual timer. You can alter the individual color via Oral-B™ app settings, while red indicates pressure sensor light and blue stands for Bluetooth® pairing indicator.
The Oral B 7000 does not have such a feature.
Cleaning Modes
Oral-B 6000 has 5 cleaning modes that allow you to brush based on your needs – Daily Clean, Gum Care, Sensitive, Whitening, and Pro-Clean Mode:
- Daily Clean Mode: This mode is designed for basic, every day clean. It offers a 2-minute brushing cycle and an additional 30-second pulsing session to help remove plaque and debris from hard-to-reach areas.
- Gum Care Mode: This mode is designed to provide extra attention to your gums. It features a 3-minute brushing cycle with longer pulsing intervals that gently massage the gum line to help reduce inflammation and bleeding.
- Sensitive Mode: This mode offers gentle cleaning for those with sensitive teeth and gums. The cycle is set at two minutes with shorter pulsing intervals to avoid overstimulating the gums.
- Whitening Mode: This mode helps remove surface stains on teeth with its detailed 3-minute brushing cycle that includes longer pulsing intervals and increased vibration frequency.
- Pro-Clean Mode: This mode is designed for thorough cleaning of your teeth in just one minute by increasing its vibration frequency, providing an intense cleanse.
The Oral B Pro 7000 comes with six brushing modes that work a bit differently – Daily Clean, Deep Clean, Whitening, Massage, Sensitive, Tongue Cleaning modes.
- Daily Clean is the most basic mode and is designed to give you a thorough, all-around clean.
- Deep Clean mode is designed to provide an even deeper clean than the previous mode, as well as 5x plaque removal.
- Whitening mode helps to gently remove surface stains and can improve the overall whiteness of your teeth.
- Massage mode helps to stimulate your gum tissue for improved oral health and circulation in the gums.
- Sensitive mode is designed for those with sensitive teeth and gums, providing a gentler brushing experience.
- Finally, Tongue Cleaning mode works to remove bacteria from the tongue for fresher breath.
Motor and Brush Movements
The Oral-B 6000 electric toothbrush is designed with a powerful motor that delivers impressive brush movements for effective cleaning. It produces 48,000 pulsations and 10,500 oscillations per minute, ensuring that your teeth are thoroughly cleaned within the dentist-recommended two-minute brushing time. This combination of pulsations and oscillations works together to loosen and remove plaque, providing a deep clean that is difficult to achieve with manual toothbrushes.
On the other hand, the Oral-B Pro 7000 electric toothbrush is equipped with a motor that generates 40,000 pulsations and 8,800 oscillations per minute. While slightly less powerful than the Pro 6000, the 7000 still offers a high level of cleaning performance. The toothbrush’s pulsations help to break up plaque, while the oscillations sweep it away, making sure that your teeth are left feeling fresh and clean after every use.
Pressure Sensor
Oral B 6000 has pressure sensor technology automatically slows brush speed and visibly alerts you to protect gums from over-brushing. If too much pressure is applied, the Smart Ring will light up in red, reminding you to reduce pressure. In addition, the pulsation of the brush head will stop and the oscillation movement of the brush head will be reduced.
If you apply too much pressure while using the Oral-B Pro 7000, the red sensor light will illuminate. Furthermore, when brushing in either “Daily” or “Deep Clean” mode, the toothbrush will automatically switch to the gentler “Sensitive” mode to protect your teeth and gums.
Timer
The timer works the same way in both toothbrushes.
In 2-Minute mode, timer signals with a short stuttering sound and a green light that the dentist recommended 2-minute brushing time has been reached.
In Profesional mode, timer beeps every thirty seconds to remind you that you should move to the next quadrant of your mouth. It also keeps you on track of your brushing time by playing the long sound when the recommended 2-minute brushing time is up. If you are using the Deep Clean mode, the brush beeps every 45 seconds and emits the long beep after 3 minutes. The timer does not switch the brush off so you can keep brushing your teeth even when the recommended time is up.
Smart Guide
The SmartGuide that comes with Oral-B 7000 is a wireless clock with a few additional features. It shows you the brushing time and guides you thru the four quadrants of your mouth. The manufacturer started including this gadget with more advanced toothbrush models before smartphones had become mainstream. You can get all this information from your phone app, but many people still prefer using Smartguide. The Oral-B 7000 has both Bluetooth connectivity with an app and a smart wireless guide.
Oral-B 6000 does not have this accessory.
Connectivity and Oral-B App
The Oral-B Genius 6000 app connects your toothbrush to your smartphone via Bluetooth, displaying brushing time and other data. It records brushing history and sends reminders. However, it lacks position detection technology found in more expensive models, so it doesn’t provide live feedback on mouth locations. The app is available on Google Play and the Apple Store, with easy installation and connection using the included QR code.
The Oral-B Pro 7000 app operates similarly to the Genius 6000 app, connecting your toothbrush to your smartphone via Bluetooth for a seamless and interactive brushing experience. As an older model, the Genius 7000 offers fewer features compared to the 6000, making it somewhat less advanced in terms of functionality.
Battery
In my opinion, the battery performance is the key difference between these two electric toothbrushes with Bluetooth connectivity.
The Oral-B 6000 features a Lithium-ion battery that offers an impressive 14-day battery life when used for two-minute brushing sessions twice a day. Although a full charge from an empty battery can take more than 10 hours, you’ll rarely find yourself in that situation. In most cases, a quick 15-minute charge provides enough power for a single 2-minute brushing session, ensuring you can keep up with your dental care routine even when short on time.
The Oral-B Pro 7000 uses an older NiMH battery, which offers a standby time of 10 days for brushing when used for two-minute sessions twice a day. This battery life is relatively shorter compared to other electric toothbrushes in a similar price range, which often feature more modern Lithium-ion batteries. While the 10-day battery life may still be sufficient for daily use, it’s worth considering that there are newer models with extended battery life, providing added convenience for those who prefer longer periods between charges.
Travel Case
Both toothbrushes come with travel cases without a charging feature. This case doesn’t work as a power bank nor has any charging functionalities like the Deluxe charging case. It is just a regular travel case that provides only protection and easy portability for your toothbrush and two brush heads. Consequently, it doesn’t have a docking connector for your phone.
Compatible Brush Heads
Both toothbrushes are compatible with Oral-B brush heads for every need: CrossAction, FlossAction, Precision Clean, 3D White, Sensitive Gum Care, Deep Sweep, Dual Clean. Does not fit Oral-B iO brush heads

Price
When comparing the Oral-B Genius 6000 and Pro 7000 electric toothbrushes, there is a noticeable price difference between the two models. The Oral-B 6000 is the more budget-friendly option, while the Oral-B Pro 7000 comes at a higher price point.
The difference in cost can be attributed to Oral B 7000 being more advanced model when it was launched. However, you should remember that now this model is dated and the extra brushing mode may not be worth the price difference you’re going to spend.

Oral-B Pro 6000 vs 7000 – The Conclusion
After examining the characteristics and abilities of the Oral-B Genius 6000 and Oral B 7000 electric toothbrushes, I suggest choosing the Oral-B Genius 6000.
As a more recent model, it has an improved battery life, enabling longer usage between recharges and offers excellent value for its features. Even though the 7000 has some extra functions, the Genius 6000’s enhanced battery and more cost-effective price make it a more appealing option for the majority of users.

Until that time, the Oral-B Genius 6000 continues to be my top recommendation for a dependable and efficient electric toothbrush that strikes a balance between performance, features, and cost-effectiveness.
