Pressure Sensor

Oral B Smart 1500 has a visible pressure sensor – a red LED light that comes on to tell you to reduce pressure. In addition, the pulsation of the brush head stops and the oscillating motion of the brush head is reduced.

Oral B 6000 has pressure sensor technology that works in a similar way. It automatically slows brush speed and visibly alerts you to protect gums from over-brushing. If too much pressure is applied, the Smart Ring will light up in red, reminding you to reduce pressure. In addition, the pulsation of the brush head will stop and the oscillation movement of the brush head will be reduced.

SmartRing

Oral B Genius 6000 has a customizable multicolor SmartRing provides real-time visual coaching on timing and pressure to help you clean your teeth as your dentist recommends. The toothbrush is equipped with the LED Smart Ring, which is made visible through a variety of colors of light. The white light (default) indicates that it is in operation and also serves as a visual timer. You can alter the individual color via Oral-B™ app settings, while red indicates pressure sensor light and blue stands for Bluetooth® pairing indicator.

The Oral B 1500 also features a LED ring but it has only one feature – it will only serve as a visual indicator for pressure sensor.

Connectivity

Only one brush from the compared two models features Bluetooth connectivity and a smartphone app. It is the OralB Genius 6000 toothbrush.

However, it lacks position detection technology found in more expensive models, so it doesn’t provide live feedback on mouth locations. The Oral B 1500 does not come with a travel case.

Oral-B Genius 6000 comes with a travel case without a charging feature. This case doesn’t work as a power bank nor has any charging functionalities like the Deluxe charging case. When the battery is low, the motor slows down and the LED light reminds you to recharge. You’ll still be able to use the brush a few more times.

The Oral-B 6000 features a Lithium-ion battery that offers an impressive 12-day battery life when used for two-minute brushing sessions twice a day. Although a full charge from an empty battery can take more than 10 hours, you’ll rarely find yourself in that situation.
